چکیده
The utilization of radiotherapy (RT) serves as the principal approach for managing nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Consequently, it is imperative to investigate correlation between radiation microenvironment and resistance in NPC. PubMed China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases were accessed perform a search utilizing English keywords “nasopharyngeal cancer”, “radiotherapy”, “microenvironment”. time spanned from establishment database until January 20, 2023. A total 82 articles included. post-radiation tumor (TME), or microenvironment, includes several components, such radiation-immune radiation-hypoxic microenvironment. various factors like immune cells, signaling molecules, extracellular matrix. RT can reshape TME, leading responses with both cytotoxic effects (T B natural killer (NK) cells) escape mechanisms (regulatory T cells (Tregs), macrophages). enhances through DNA release, type I interferons, cell recruitment. Radiation-hypoxic affects metabolism molecular changes. RT-induced hypoxia causes vascular changes, fibrosis, vessel compression, tissue hypoxia. Hypoxia activates hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1a/2a, promoting angiogenesis glycolysis cells. TME changes due also involve suppressive myeloid-derived suppressor (MDSCs), tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), Tregs. involved holds significant effect on prognosis patients Exploring provides new insights into NPC research. Update on nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
The most common type of nasopharyngeal tumor is nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The etiology is multifactorial with race, genetics, environment and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) all playing a role. While rare in Caucasian populations, it is one of the most frequent nasopharyngeal cancers in Chinese, and has endemic clusters in Alaskan Eskimos, Indians, and Aleuts. Interestingly, as native-born Chinese mig...

OBJECTIVE To determine the prevalence and risk factors for radiation-induced carotid stenosis in patients with malignant neoplasms of the head and neck. DESIGN Prospective cross-sectional screening of extracranial carotid stenosis by color-flow duplex ultrasonography with an analysis of demographic and comorbid risk factors. متن کاملApplication of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging fusion images for delineating gross tumor volume in three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Background: To evaluate computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) fusion images for delineating gross tumor volume (GTV) in three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) of nasophanrygeal carcinoma (NPC), and compare treatment outcomes between CT- and CT+MRI-based targets. Materials and Methods: A total of 120 NPC patients treated with 3D-CRT were included, in which, 60 ...
متن کاملModulation of the tumor microenvironment by Epstein‐Barr virus latent membrane protein 1 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Latent membrane protein 1 (LMP1) is a primary oncogene encoded by the Epstein-Barr virus, and various portions of LMP1 are detected in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) tumor cells. LMP1 has been extensively studied since the discovery of its transforming property in 1985. LMP1 promotes cancer cell growth during NPC development and facilitates the interaction of cancer cells with surrounding strom...
